I\'ve used mostly Hoosier A6\'s and the Hankook Z214\'s, and set up sufficient camber, run the recommended tire pressures, watch the temperatures, and flip the tires at about "half-life". I normally get between 140 and 190 runs before the traction is shot or cords are showing. I bought the A7\'s this year because they were advertised to have a longer life than the A6\'s and only got 45 runs before cording the outsides of BOTH front tires. I will not buy the A7\'s again, and will recommend against purchasing these tires to all racers.
Review from June 26, 2015Rating: 8.38I have run many track tires and by far these hoosier A7s are the stickiest most predictable compound ever. I run the 275/35/15" on a 2200lb, 215 front wheel horsepower supercharged Focus (yes,a Ford Focus) on all 4 corners and first time out set the Super Unlimited track record (1:48.7 seconds) at a 14 turn,2.3 mile road course (Whiskey Hill Raceway in Palmer,Ma) The tire does need at least 3 degrees of negative camber (I run 4) for best temps,traction andwear,and I flip them when needed. (Usually every other event) I scuffed them in on one practice session and used them a week later during time trials. Sincethen,I have used them for practice and the grip level is as good as ever.(12 heat cycles and counting) I bought another set for the next TT event and will use the original set till they cord. These things make you feel like superman behind the wheel.
