This handsome horn beaker showing characteristic variegated colouring is in very good condition, except for a small crack in the base (see last picture).The bevelled glass base has no cracks but a few fleabites can be seen if held up to the light.The silver rim fits tight. There are no hallmarks but the rim tested positive for silver.The cartouche bears the date 1863 and the initials \"C I\" (probably).The origin is more than likely Scottish or North of England but this cannot be proven.This size beaker was probably used for drinking beer.Height: 4.7 in (12 cm)
