Hi! Please consider this unusual piece of folk art - it had a purpose - so was a utilitarian piece. The horse and anchor have been hand carved out of a single piece of wood, trimmed with thin tin then all of the rest of the piece (but for the holes) are filled in with a felt type material. Ideas for use from others are many and varied - most plausible to me are that the horse and anchor were in fact poured from the back side and then removed giving you a 3 dimensional figure of the felt type material was inked and pressed onto another medium that left the horse and anchor uncolored. The wood is 3 sections deep and measures 1 3/4\" plus the felt material makes the depth of the entire unit just over 2\", while the outside dimensions are about 11\" x 12\". It makes a great wall hanging and fine conversation piece - \"what is it?\"Questions are welcomed and promptly answered.
