English Sterling Silver Hot Milk Jug orPitcher made by Crichton Brothers,London & New York, with a full set ofHallmarks for London 1917. This handsome jug has a raffia wrappedhandle, a flat topped domed lid with anurn finial and a wide spout. This elegant jug is 6 1/4\" tall, 6 1/2\"from handle to spout, 3 3/8\" indiameter, and weighs a substantial 381grams or 12.3 ozs. Troy. It has a surprisingly large capacity of20 fluid ozs. or 1 1/4 Pints. One side of the body has an ornate,period monogram MSW. The body has afull set of hallmarks under the baseand the underside of the lid has theLion passant, date letter and maker\'smark. Monogrammed as described above, theexcellent original condition and clear,crisp detail, with no removals, repairsor alterations, make this an especiallyattractive offering.
