I suppose in one way you could consider the Fisher Price Sweet Streets line a failure. Fisher Price produced it for only a short period of time and never linked it to its other major worlds like Little People and Loving Family. It was sort of an orphan line.

Which is a shame, because the Sweet Streets toys were made on a really magical scale. They\'re big enough to be played with by even young children and to have a lot of detail. But they\'re also small enough that they have the charm and appeal of miniatures. More than any other Fisher Price toys, the Sweet Streets toys create a world of magic that opens up each time a child sits down to play with them.

While the company\'s Loving Family dollhouses have many quite excellent features, the houses are very heavy and entirely impractical to haul around. Even the Loving Family dolls and pieces of furniture don\'t really fit all that neatly into a child\'s pockets or backpack.

The Sweet Streets pieces are less than half the size of the Loving Family world and each building folds up neatly -- both excellent features for playdates and sleepovers.

Sweet Streets figures can be a challenge to find. It\'s quite fortunate that the houses are the perfect size for lots of other figures, including Playmobil, Calico Critters, Polly Pockets, and Strawberry Shortcake. (Fortunately -- indeed! -- the citizens of all of these play worlds get along extremely well.)
