Private First Class Duncan McEwan was a tall, blond, handsome young man stationedatAPO 139 in Bamberg Germany. He met a beautiful lithe German girl named Elisabeth (who looked an awful lot like Leslie Caron) and they fell madly in love. Somehow he got re-stationed back in California and the military allowed them to take a tour of Europe before boarding a French Line cruise ship back to the US.

This group contains approx 66 larger items including booklets, brochures, menus, maps from various countries including England, France, Scotland, Switzerland, Germany, Italy & Spain.
Plus there\'s a small pile of receipts and ticket stubs from the various places they ate, stayed, or toured.

I included two envelopes containing 37 photos of the two lovebirds and their travels in Switzerland & Italy that help to put a face on everything. It\'s like one very specific time capsule from the mid 1950s in Europe. You can even see the color lipstick she wore ~ as she kissed a few of the items.
