HUGE Old Pawn Vintage Navajo Sterling & Ajax Turquoise Necklace c 1960’s:

This is a VERY large, authentic old Navajo necklace made of all sterling components and a HUGE turquoise specimen that, in my estimation, originated from the Ajax mine in Esmeralda Nevada.

The pendant is HUGE at over 3 inches tall by 2 inches wide at the widest point. It has an irregular shape with a raised foliate border on the side. The turquoise is a GORGEOUS shade of light green with an abundance of brown matrix. It appears to be an untreated stone so there is a visible crack in the stone and there are also areas of the pendant where the surface is rough and the stone has worn down but these areas are PARTICULARLY pretty in my opinion.

The necklace is made of old handmade alternating melon and pearl beads...it measures 25 inches from tip to tip and closes with a large hook and eye clasp.

This necklace weighs a very substantial grams 68 grams.

This piece is far from perfect...it has been worn and loved but it is totally authentic and totally reminiscent of a bygone era of Navajo jewelry.
