Very old and large antique Bohemian Garnet cluster ring. The shank is solid 10k yellow gold; the top mounting is gilt silver as was done a lot with this type of jewelry. The ring contains one center large oval domed faceted garnet, rimmed by tiny round faceted garnets with the outer row large flat round faceted stones. They all have a deep red/maroon color. The center stone is 4 prong set, with both rows of round stones prong set in crown-like saw tooth settings. Measures a finger size 6.5. We can see solder where the shank meets the top, so it might not be the original shank; also some oxidation/solder around the prongs of the center garnet. Condition is good for its age: many stones have abrasions and chips, but the ring faces up with great bold color; one outer row round stone is missing a couple of the crown prongs, but the stone is secure. The top measures 1\" tall by almost 1\" wide, and from the bottom of the shank to the top of the center garnet app. 1 1/8\" tall.
