IF YOU LOVE SOUTHERN BELLES, HERE IS A STUNNING 1/4 PLATE AMBROTYPE FOR YOU - and I won\'t embarrass myself and start the offerding at $15,000.00 dollars as some members are currently doing. I try to keep things real and price all my images within the current market value.

The quarter plate is of a very poised young woman, who presents herself to the camera in a simple understated way. Her light weight fabric dress leads us to the South during the 1850\'s and the reason for my referring to her as a \"Southern Belle.\" The first thing I am enamored by when I view this image is her Mona Lisa or pursed smile. A smile that takes on both happiness and self worth. This young debutant wears the most wonderful printed dress and a set of Victorian dangle earrings. Could this be her first image celebrating her coming out into Fashionable Society, graduating from a University or possibly starting a career? Although we may never know, one thing is for sure...the photographer placed her in his best light and captured this young woman\'s likeness in a very charming and fetching manner. Wouldn\'t you agree?

CONDITION: Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition. The quarter plate ambrotype is extremely nice condition. The image contains wonderful sharpness, terrific contrast and tonal range. The overall lighting is absolutely superb. The photo is housed in a full case with the origin hinge partially intact. The case has both working latches and a very nice embossed warm toned velvet pillow.
