Cavities in granites and rhyolites. Deposited byfluorine-rich vapors in rocks of rhyolite composition. Historically these rareTopazes were mined for the royal Romanov family. Therefore, the name “imperial”.In later years, term “imperial topaz” was mainly used for pink-reddish varietyfrom Ouro Preto, Brazil.
