IMPORTANT ANTIQUE Solid Sterling Silver LARGE PEDESTAL FRUIT BOWL HMark 1904 NR

This is a really stunning ANTIQUE EDWARDIANLARGE solid sterling silver fruit or sweetmeat bowl, stand, compote or pedestal dish which was made in Bristol, England in 1904 by the illustrious Victorian West Country silversmiths, George Maudsley Jackson and David Landsborough Fullerton of Josiah Williams & Company at their St Augustine's Parade workshops. It has a gorgeous lobed shape and is raised on a high pedestal base. It has lovely shell borders, is generously sized and has two stunning reeded shell handles. It measures9 3/8" wide, 5 1/2" deep and stands 5 7/8" high. It is not loaded - it is VERY substantial- it weighs400.0 grams - which is well over 12 3/4troy oz. It is NOT engraved.

It is in superb condition for its age with much less than the usual surface scratching but NO dents, just a few dings, almost NO distortion and, unusually, NO compression to the base - see photographs - SUPERB. This beautiful piece is hallmarked with GJ over DF, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark),leopard head, i showing that it was hallmarked in London in 1904. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. This is a really super quality IMPRESSIVE LARGE ANTIQUE piece with a fantastic design - in superb condition after almost110 years - I'm afraid that my pictures do not really do it justice!!!
