It\'s no exaggeration to describe Behrens\'s appointment as artistic director of AEG in 1907 as a turning point in design history; it was the first time a major international company had employed a single designer to advise on all aspects of its corporate identity, accommodation and output.
Besides creating new premises for the company - including the Turbine Factory, itself a landmark of modernism - he devised a new range of groundbreaking and consciously forward-looking electrical products, including lighting, clocks and tea kettles, as well as table fans. AEG continued producing Behrens\'s designs with minor modifications into the late 1930s.
The condition is very good indeed. Clean and bright and without inscriptions. Some minor, expected wear to the cover.
A fabulous resource for design collectors and historians, and very hard-to-find.
