This is an interesting Staffordshire prattware satyr mask jug or pitcher of which:

During our research we have been informed itcertainly dates from the georgian period of the early 19th century.

Dates about c1800s.

Staffordshire, England origin.

Prattware.

Superb decoration and portrayal of the horned satyr with the wonderful facial detailing.

Hand decoration around the circumference with areas of colour.

Decorative handle.

It has an overall height of about 5.25inches.

Max dia including handle of about 5.75inches.

Max dia of the hexagonal base of about 3.5inches.

Condition: Considering the age, the overall conditionis good but is subject to:

early restoration to the spout area.

has a crack travelling south from the rim and travelling across to the satyr.

Ageing.

With todays modern & advanced restoration technology, can certainly be improved.
