Interesting antique german violin made circa 1900 after Maggini.

Today we propose at sale without reserve this very nice antique german violin for restoration. It was made circa 1900 after Maggini. The f holes, the double purfling and the head have been nicely made in the Maggini style. The woods are beautiful, with a top made of two parts of spruce, the grain widening at the edges. The back is made of two parts of nicely flamed maple, the curl descending from the center joint. The varnish, of an orange-brown color on a golden round, was originally made in copy at the time, and shows a great patina.

The violin has a crack running from above the left f hole, and another little crack at the lower part of the same f hole stopped by purfling. Otherwise the violin is in good condition. Once properly restored, it will be a very nice german instrument.

On the inside back can be found the remains of an old label that cannot be red.
