Offered for your consideration is this intriguing Dutch, 17th/18th century portrait of a man with shoulder length grey to white hair wearing black jacket with whitecollar and cuffs with hand to his chest. Attributed to the circle of Paulus Lesire (Netherlandish, 1611-1654) by sale house it was purchased from. Framed 38.5\"x34.5\" (approx), unframed 29.75\"x26\" (approx).

Condition:

Painting relined. Paint losses predominantly from rubbing on edges of frame visible. Under layer of canvasvisible, mainly on the face fromover cleaning(?) Scattered scratches to paint layer, predominantly on the body of the figure. Paint craquelurethroughout commensurate with age. Slight vertical line of craquelure on left side of figure near edge of frame withslightly raised paint layer - otherwise paint layer appears to be stable. Signs of scattered earlier in painting and retouches, earlier patch repair, under black light. Frame indefinite NEED of TLC (see pics).
