An original Civil War CDV chestview photo of Captain Henry E Williams, Cedar Falls, Iowa, commander of Company B, 31st Iowa Infantry, wearing a black mourning rosette on his breast. The rosette bears an image in the center, presumably of Lincoln. Captain Williams was wounded at Jonesboro, Georgia in 1864,was mustered out at Louisville, Kentucky, June 26, 1865 and the rosette was a popular Lincoln moruning item of officers at this time . The photo reverse bears the imprint of Louisville Photographers Campbell & Ecker. The photo reverse bears a pencil id. The image was identified from the31st Iowa Volunteers CDV album on exhibit at the Cedar Falls Historical Society. Come s w service info. VG.
