An antique, Irish, Georgian, Britannia Silver serving spoon.

Fresh from a prominent Georgia estate comes this very rare serving spoon. It is a strainer spoon in the classic fiddle pattern. It has an engraved family crest or armorial of a gloved knight\'s fist holding a dagger, knife or sword. A similar (lighter in weight by 1/3 & with weird Hallmarks) sold at live sale in 2010 for $2,200.00 + 18% buyer\'s premium.

It measures about 13\" (33.5 cm.) long & weighs 159 grams.

It is in excellent condition for its age with no dents, bends or gouges other than normal wear. The divider is not attached where it meets the handle but I don\'t think it ever was. offer now! It is perfect for gift giving. Remember, you are not spending, you are investing.

It has Irish Hallmarks: \"WW\" = the silversmith\'s initials of William Ward, Dublin Ireland; the Hibernia Purity Hallmark (equivalent to the English Britannia mark but with her arm resting on a harp instead of on a shield) indicating higher silver content than Sterling (Sterling = .925, Hibernia/Britannia = .958); the Irish harp Hallmark & the date letter \"E\" = 1801.
