707 pages with lots of glossy b/w photos, chronology, index, map endpapers.
There is also a large folded map tucked in a pocket inside back cover (see scans).
The Federal Writers\' Project (FWP) was a United States federal government project to fund written work and support writers during the Great Depression. It was part of the Works Progress Administration, a New Deal program. It was one of a group of New Deal arts programs known collectively as Federal One.Most famously, the FWP created the American Guide Series, which produced thorough guidebooks for every state that include descriptions of towns, waterways, historic sites, oral histories, photographs, and artwork. An association or group that put up the cost of publication sponsored each book, the cost was anywhere from $5,00 to $10,000. In almost all cases, the book sales were able to reimburse their sponsors.

Lots of great vintage b/w photos.
Fading, light wear to covers, slight wear to corners/spine ends, tear in binding near bottom spine when front cover is open, name/address penned on inner endpapers, binding is visible a bit when book is opened to inner back endpaper, pocket/sleeve affixed inside back cover has a small tear. The map tucked inside has a few small tears (see scan).
