This is an extremely elegant manuscript leaf from a fragment of Al-Juzuli, Da;A’Il Al-Khayrat and other Prayers in Arabic with six lines of Meghribi script in black ink with accents of red and blue ink, on thick burnished linen paper dating from the early 18th century (114 x 115 mm.). There is an elaborate Chapter Heading of Vibrant Blue and Red with text in white surrounded by a gold border. The Meghribi script went out of favor but came back in the 17th century, mainly in Moraco, Tunisia and Algeria.The versoin Arabic in six lines of Meghribi script in black ink with some script in red and turquoise blue ink, on thick burnished linen paper . A rare find and a wonderful addition to any manuscript collection. The orange square located in the right-hand margin of this leaf is part of the protective piece of paper that is placed over the sura heading to protect it and.can easily be removed, if so desired by the new owner of this lovely leaf.
