A Russian officers sabre

Imperial Russia, period of reign of Nicolas I, 1st half of 19th century.

Single edged Solingen blade of significant curvature, with three narrow fullers. On the one side of the blade an Imperial Russian eagle and hallmark with heads of king and a knight with letters W.K. & C. Other side of the blade with monogram of tsar Nicolas I and inscription F. FICHTE SOLINGEN. Grip covered with ray skin and wrapped with twisted brass wire. Guard consists of the knuckle guard and three side rings. Iron scabbard with two suspension rings.
