Very Decorative and Very Rare one of a Kind Faberge Imperial Russian Silver andGuilloché Enamel Letter Opener withNephrite Blade.This Sterling Silver handle knife is plated with yellow Gold and diamonds, decorated with Red Hot Enamel and Double Headed Eagle, Nephrite blade finished with Ruby or Agat stone? from Ural Mountains in Russia and diamonds.The horse head has Ruby/Agat? stone eyes and all the metal parts are made with Sterling Silver plated with Gold.Letter opener was one of the most beautiful items made by Karl Faberge for TCAR NIKOLAY II of Russia to present his wife Alexandra as a gift. Measures:8 1/2\" (21.59cm) length.Total weight 4.75ozt. Good Antique Condition. Some very small hairlines or tinny cracks on enamel around double headed eagle. There are no other chips, cracks or repairs. Thehandle holds Cyrillic mark with 88 silver purity mark, town marks and Faberge mark as well. Also holds ЯАworkmastermarks. Includes fitted wooden presentation box.The box stamp/logo is the Imperial Crest (Russia), and has the name/mark of Faberge, with offices in St. Petersburg, Moscow and Odessa.

Karl Gustaf Hjalmar Armfeldtwas a silversmith andFabergé workmaster. Born inHankoor inArtjarvi, Finland in 1873. In 1886, at age 13, he was apprenticed to the Finnish silversmith Paul Sohlman inSt.Petersburgat 58 Gorohovaya. He became a journeyman in 1891. He worked asFabergé\'s workmaster beginning in 1895, and used the mark ЯА. Armfeldt also worked under the silversmith Anders Nevalainen. He produced objects for Fabergé until 1916, working on projects like those ofJohan Victor Aarne, like tiny gem-set frames, silver-mounted birchwood frames, hardstone frames, gem-set enameled gold articles and silver figures on hardstone base.
