Impressive Heavy Antique Indo Persian Solid Silver Bowl c1880
Skillfully hand made from a heavy gauge, high purity solid silver.
It stands steady on 3 remarkable finely cast legs which resemble winged apes.
It consists of a a skillfully hand made multi lobed shape and features fine quality all over hand chased and repousse work details depicting a number of figures and kutch style naturalistic scrolls.
The rim features repeating stylized fish which is a characteristic of Lucknow silver from the late Victorian period.
In very good original condition.
Good sized, tactile and beautifully proportioned with a rim diameter of 126mm and height of 80mm.
It is made from a very thick gauge of good solid silver and is extremely heavy at
315g or 11.1oz !
