Per the Transferware Collectors\' Club database, this is one of a number of transferware patterns produced in memory of Princess Charlotte, daughter of the Prince Regent and heir apparent to the throne of Britain, after she died following childbirth in 1817. This pattern pictures a monument with a portrait of the Princess, topped by an urn with her name and overhung by a weeping willow. On one side of the monument a young man weeps, presumably Charlotte\'s husband Prince Leopold, while on the other side Britannia is prostrate with grief.
Outstanding, near mint condition. No faults. No signs of any use. Bright shiny glaze. Rings loudly when tapped.
