Gorgeous hand made moriones mask from thePhilippines. Painted carved palm wood, painted cut tin, papier mache and plastic bristles for feathers.
These don\'t come up often for sale or for sale anywhere outside of the Philippines. This one is older and was made in the mid 20th Century. The newer masks are much more refined looking and lack the folk art qualities that this mask offers.
Mask is used each year during Lent on the island ofMarinduque.
Measures 23 inches from chin to crown.
