For sale we have an original Civil War letter written on 16th PA Cavalry stationery. It\'s written by a soldier named Samuel C. Morrow to a Mr. James McKee. He would have been a Private at the time, stationed at Camp Casey (5 miles outside Washington, DC) at the time. Private Morrow made Sergeant by the end of the war & saw lots of action. The 16th PA Cavalry was a very engaged & distinguished Cav unit, part of the 161st PA Regt. The 16th PA Cav was at Chancellorsville, Brandy Station, Gettysburg, Cold Harbor, & was present for the surrender at Appomattox Court House. When Private Morrow wrote this letter, he couldn\'t have known all of the combat he would be embroiled in. The 16th PA Cav historical accounts make mention of a couple of cavalry charges with sabers drawn, and once dismounted facing Jeb Stuart. This is a very cool, original piece, in very good condition that would make a wonderful addition to a CW letter collection. Or, maybe this will reach one of Sgt. Morrow\'s descendants. No International Shipping.
