Selling a International Mutoscope Reel company \"Play Hockey\" coin operated arcade game made sometime during the 1930\'s-1940\'s.

International Mutoscope Reel company made several variations of this game. Due to its popularity it was later copied by several other companies like Chicago Coins. They had their own variation of the game called \"Goalee Hockey\" in later years. This example is in a stained oak finish. Some of these were painted and the later models had the controls on the front to fee up more space in the Penny Arcades. This one is in great shape for its age. It does have some minor cosmetic wear on the oak. Also some playfield wear. It does have a nice patina to it so I decided to leave it as is and not restore it. This is one of the few variants of Play Hockey that I could find that has a built in light that seems to illuminate whenever someone scores. It does not appear to be a plug in game but appears to require an old style dry cell battery. I have not checked the functionality of this feature. The game plays very well, coin mech works properly. It currently has 17 balls per play. More than what I believe it had when new.

The latest value of this machine I could find online was an old price guide from 10 years ago that valued a Play Hockey at $2400.00

So I am selling for $500 under what it was worth 10 years ago. I do not know the current value. It could have went considerably or stayed the same.
