This is a stunning sterling silver set. It belonged to my friends grandmother and it has always been in the family. It comes from a smoke free home. The simple design is absolutely beautiful. The serving tray does have scratches and dings from use because it was actually used to carry the tea and coffee back in those days. She thinks it is from the 1930\'s or 40\'s and my research has not turned up anything that dates it any closer than that. All the pieces show signs of use including typical scratches form years of polishing and washing. The tea pot is the only piece, other than the tray, that has anything worthy of noting. There is a small dimple on the top of the handle and it shows clearly in my picture. There is cracking to the creme colored pieces that decorate the handles of the pots which I also have shown in the pictures. Wherever these bands are they are cracked. Nothing is loose and I\'m not really sure what those stripes are made from but one person told me that it is ivory. To me, the pieces are in remarkable condition for their age.
