This vintage invitation is dated April, 1954. It is in good condition to be my age. These revelers have always had their parade on Fat Tuesday as long as I have ever known. They seem to have had a formal ball just before the end on the lenten season. I have known members of the KOR for about 20+ year, and they have changed the format of their dance to a slightly less formal gathering near Easter in attire that you would now see at an occasion similar to the Kentucky Derby.This is a single sheet that is folded with a small film of protective rice paper. The front has the emblem for the organization. This mystic society has lot of history for Mobile. There is probably more information on the WWW. This is one of our oldest krewes that still parades on Mardi Gras day.Yes, you did read that title right, 80th year.
