A very impressive heavy and large Italian plain silver tray with the scalloped border and an applied high relief acanthus leaves and flowers motifs in Rococo style. According to the markings found on the tray it was made sometime between 1937 and 1944. Not monogrammed The tray is fully hallmarked with the Italian silver marks used 1934-1944. It is marked with a lozenge mark containing number 240 for Italian silversmith Proserpio Achille (in business circa 1937), fasces mark, and two letters MI for Milano. It is also marked with 800 in oval for 800/1000 puritysilver
In excellent condition with just surface scratching. The tray needs some cleaning/polishing. Please refer to the pictures for the condition
The tray is 15 1/4\" in diameter and 3/4\" tall
The weight is approx. 1111 grams or 35.72 troy ounces
