A beautiful antique sterling milk pitcher or creamer produced by J. E. Caldwell & Co. of Philadelphia. Our best estimate of age is sometime before 1860. The company was formed in 1839 but only produced their own silver until 1860, after which they became retailers. The lack of any other makers mark on the piece is the indicator in this case, as post-1860 pieces bear both the company stamp and the mark of the actual silversmith.
Excellent antique condition with no damage.The repousse work is quite exquisite.Some light tarnishing that would clean up nicely if desired, but we will leave that up to the buyer to decide if they wish to do so.
Approximately 6\" tall at the handle with a weight of 188 grams sterling.
