Difficult to believe something so clean and modern looking is over 100 years old! Herrmann where taken over by Bernsdorf by the start of WW1 so we can say for sure pre 1914. Clearly an item influenced by the Vienna secession movement, I\'d love to attribute it to a specific individual however I can\'t dig up to much info on the piece. It looks to be a coaster or possibly a dish or Ashtray - in all honesty I don\'t think it matters a great deal - it\'s purpose now is as an object of artisanal design from a revolutionary moment in history!

I\'ve tried researching Josef Čížek however I can\'t dig anything up - in thinking perhaps it was a gift presented to the individual?
