J.C. DUFFY REJECTED NEW YORKER CARTOON ART:
$25.00
Semi-original cartoon art by J.C. Duffy (New Yorker cartoonist and creator of The Fusco Brothers comic strip). The images of the couple are photocopies that are pasted on, but everything else (word balloons, title, frames, inscription) is original. I submitted this cartoon strip to the New Yorker\'s \"Back Page\" feature (before it was replaced by the Caption Contest) in 1994, but they didn\'t buy it. At the top I wrote, \"Bob, 10 roughs. Thanks. Joe 6-19-04.\" \"Bob\" refers to Bob Mankoff, the cartoon editor. I was submitting my 10 weekly roughs, and this was the top page. Rare.India ink on copy paper, measuring approximately 8.5 x 11 inches. Contains some blue pencil lines. Good condition. Shipping within USA only.
