Vintage Japanese Rickshaw Driver with Woman

This is an unusual old Japanese figurine that depicts a rickshaw driver pulling a kimono-clad woman, holding a fan and a parasol, or umbrella. It measures 3-3/4\" Long x 1-1/2\" Wide x 3\" Tall. It is made of a very lightweight CELLULOID plastic and sits on a black, wooden platform. Has beautiful detailing to the carriage, to the peoples\' clothing and even to the parasol.

This small collectible from Japan is broken where the parasol stem meets the lady\'s hand, but could easily be reglued. No other damage or imperfections. The wheels on the carriage turn easily. Comes with its\' original cardboard box stamped \"Made in Japan.\" Also has a paper sticker on the bottom of the carriage that says \"Made in Japan.\"

My father purchased this back in the 1950s or 1960s and it has been in storage ever since. It has never been played with or even displayed. Judging by the box it came in, I think he bought it new. The slender parasol stem probably broke off during one of our many moves.
