This is the third in the series of Joan Rivers original collection of Imperial Treasures. The egg features sapphire blue enamel, Roman numerals circling the base of the egg on an ivory background, and intricate gold detailing on the egg itself and on the base on which the egg sits (including a replica of the Imperial Russian Crown at the top of the egg.) Joan\'s hallmark JR is beautifully shown on the back side of the egg. The Timepiece Egg showcases a working battery-operated clock, so that egg is functional, as well as decorative. The egg has been in its original box since I received it, has never been displayed, and was only taken out of the box to photograph it for this listing. (I also had a jeweler replace the battery, so the egg will come to you as a working timepiece. In replacing the battery, the jeweler noticed that the back of the clock piece itself also carries the \"J.R.\" hallmark.) The Timepiece Egg will come in its original box, accompanied by Joan\'s written description of the egg and Certificate of Authenticity, and instructions for changing the battery.There are many who produce Faberge inspired eggs, but I truly believe that none match the intricacy and detail captured by Joan Rivers. If you are familiar with her eggs and her jewelry, you likely agree that nobody does enameling as well as Joan Rivers. I think that the Timepiece Egg would be beautiful displayed in any room, especially on a desk or shelf in a home office or guest room.
