Wonderful Rare Hopi Fertility Kachina PinJames Selina SilversmithJames Selina was a member of the Hopi Silver Craft Guild which was formed in 1949. Both he and his brother, Roger, trained and worked at this Guild.
James Selina was from the Snow Clan in the Shungopavi Village, Second Mesa Arizona.
The back of the pin is stamped with the Selina\'s maker\'s mark of a Flute Rattle and a sun, which is the mark of the Hopi Silvercraft Guild.
The pin measures 1 7/8\" at its widest point and 1 1/2\" in height. Weight is 14.2 grams sterling silver.I purchased this pin in a shop in Concord, Massachusetts during the mid-1980s. I was told by the owner that is was a Fertility Kachina.
Condition is mint with no flaws or damage. In the profile picture, there is color reflected from my jewelry box lining (red) that
shows in the photo. This is a reflection only and the photo showing the front has no surrounding reflection.
