Soldier letter from JB Holloway of the 148th Pennsylvania Volunteers from Near Fredericksburg, Virginia. He writes his Wife Kate and mentions that he has seen the Balloon that is like white silk (I assume this is one of the spy balloons that was sent up to see the troops below). He talks about a member of his company (home town also) who is having a problem with alcohol and thinks they will be in battle soon. He gives good detail of the rations he receives and what the weather is like and who he has seen that he and his wife know.
