I believe this piece dates from the early 1900\'s. It\'s a beautiful Japanese cigarette case inlaid with 24k gold, sterling and copper. The craftsmanship on this piece is fantastic. I believe it is all inlaid on brass and probably neillo background. The front cover depicts a geisha who appears to be startled by a winged insect.This piece is in great original condition. The spring is very strong, as is the button to open the case. There is such minor loss to the inlay that I only mention it for accuracy and it could possibly be as-made.
