This is a Japanese Imperial Gozo blue Satsuma koro. Fabulous decoration featuring a peacock in full plume to one side with clouds and a stunning array of flowers below. On the reverse is a peahen. A wonderful Gozo blue ruyi head border below the rim. The tripod ruyi-shaped feet with chrysanthemums. Charming elephant head handles. The pierced cover with ruyi shapes. Circular mons with characters and chrysanthemum knop. With antique carved wooden stand.Signed to the base with three gold characters and a Gozo blue Shimazu Clan monHeight (excluding stand) 13 cms.Repaired around shoulder of pot and hairlines to the cover.
