A monumental, hand crafted late Meiji sterling silver punch set, comprising punch bowl,
ladle and ten cups.
The set from the renowned Tokyo firm of by Masaru Miyamoto in 1880 to offer hand crafted silver wares
to the west.
Exhibited 1883 Columbian Expo., Chicago & 1910 British-Japanese
Expo in London.
Designed and crafted silver wares for foreign diplomats and the Imperial Family.
The punch bowl in tapering circular form with sixteen petal Imperial crest
or \"mon\" united by applied and hand chased Royal Chrysanthemum displays
to both body and base.
The stem with delicate leaf detail.
The ten punch cups in classic form with conforming floral work.
The sterling punch bowl hallmarked as shown,
the ladle 950 Sterling Okubo
and 10 cups Sterling 95- monogrammed.
This hand crafted Japanese sterling center bowl 14 inches the
matching cups 4 3/4 inches and ladle 17 inches.
