Item Photos and Description For your consideration is a Japanese art collection book of masterpieces of Japanese Tea Ceremony Equipment called Oodogu in Japanese, discussing and admiring the art and beauty of various tea ceremony equipment based on Urasenke Way of Tea.This volume 8 focuses on Hanaire or Chabana containers, covering Karamono and Wamono, including Koudou, Sahari(metal), Seiji, Kinran-de, Shibori-de, Iga, Bizen, Shigaraki, Shino, Karatsu, Rikyu-Shakuhachi(BAMBOO) and ichiju-giri, and more. Includes 94 pages of full-color photographs of 47 Chabana-container masterpieces, with detailed description pages at the end, some of which include b&w photos of other angles and the wooden boxes and signature (hakogaki) for the utensils.Be aware that the entire text is in Japanese.This large-format hardcover book with dust jacket was first published in 1970 in Japan, and this revised edition was printed in 1974. The editor is SEN Soshitsu, the head (IEMOTO) of Urasenke school. Measures 305x230mm(12x9.1\") and contains 173 pages.Preowned but still in very good condition, with a little signs of aging and light general wear, in dust jacket with mild edge wear and discoloration, mild wear to corners/spine ends, with photographs intact, no markings/notes inside, no torn/missing page.
