Born to artistic parents in rural South Carolina, Jim Shore grew to love the techniques and traditions found in American folk art. His grandmother, a master quilter, helped him develop an understanding of the patience, skill, and artistic merit found in the craft of quilting. And from her inspiration, he took the love of patterns and colors to develop his own unmistakable artistic style.

Combining techniques from quilting, rosemaling, tole painting, appliqué, and flat perspective folk art, Jim applies his distinctive look to a wide line of collectibles, decorative accessories, and functional home décor.
