John Warne Antique Pewter Quart Beer Tankard From Farmers Arms Pub East Dulwich:
$36.98

This is a very interesting Victorian antique pewter beer tankard which has a capacity of one quart. The front is engraved \"A Plummer Foresters Arms Lord Ship Lane East Dulwich\". Apparently there is still a pub on this site in Lordship Lane, but it is now called \"The Bishop\". It is stamped with a Uniform Verification Number \"VR116\" which as I understand it, refers to the County of Buckingham from 1880 onwards. It is also stamped with the word \"QUART\",and another stamp (as shown) to the rim, while the top of the handle is engraved with a \"P\". Internally on the base is the maker\'s mark of John Warne of Blackfriars Road in London. There are a couple of scratches to the inscription on the front, but otherwise, it is offered in very good antique condition. It is approx 6\" (15.3cm) tall and measures 4.25\" (10.8cm) across the top.
