GORGEOUS original acrylic painting by Romanian-Israeli artist Joseph Ijaky (1922-2009) depicting the Western Wall in Jerusalem, circa late 1960s. This piece was one of several notable scenes painted by Ijaky following the reunification of Jerusalem in 1967. It was originally purchased at the prestigious Bruno Gallery in Tel Aviv shortly after its execution and has been well-maintained. We once removed the backing to verify the provenance and found a Bruno sticker as well as Ijaky\'s name printed in Hebrew behind the mat (not pictured). Piece itself is in excellent condition and beautifully depicts Ijaky\'s unique style, matted behind glare-resistant glass in a stunning period wood frame that complements the composition\'s stone imagery. There is a light wrinkle near the lower left corner of the mat that doesn\'t affect the painting. Image measures 13\" x 19\" inside a 22 1/4\" x 28 1/4\" frame. Overall, an incredible piece by an artist whose work is seldom listed for sale outside of Israel.
