1994 WORLD CUP SOCCER TOURNAMENT IN THE UNITED STATES BY THE OFFICIAL ARTIST FOR THIS EVENT..... INTERNATIONALIMPRESSIONIST ARTIST, KAMIL KUBIK.

It was quite exciting for soccer lovers in the USA to have something as international as the World Cup Gamesplayed throughout our country. One of the stadiums that would be participating as an event location was at the Meadowlands.....our GIANTS STADIUM....the location of football (American) games played by our New York Football Jets and our New York Football Giants. This would be a whole knew experience for our stadium an everyone was thrilled and excited. There are many stories behind thistremendous, internationalexperience and one of them involved postage stamps being made as a salute to the USA locationswhere individual games were being played. New York was recognized but New Jersey was not. Meanwhile, Giants Stadium is actually located in New Jersey....not New York, causing the Governor, politicians, team representatives etc. who were part of this New Jersey location to become involved in finding a way tochange this obvious slight to their state. After a lot of discussion and bargaining, someone from the US Postal Service contacted an international artist who happened to live near Giants Stadium, KAMIL KUBIK. Kamil was asked if he could quickly create a pastel that could be used in this project.A painting wascommissioned to honor the game played at the New Jersey location. GIANTS STADIUM. Once the painting was finished, limited edition prints were made from the Original painting as well as amuch less expensive Poster. The Governor of New Jersey and this extremely talented artist, Kamil Kubik were at the stadium on game dayto sign posters that weresold to fans of this powerful International Soccer Event.

This sale is for a Serigraph PRINT of this painting of the first game at the stadium, between ITALY AND IRELAND. It shows the game in action inside the stadium being played below a blue sky filled with white clouds. NOW....LOOK AT THE CLOUDS! One of Kamil\'s signature gifts in some of his paintings is to disguise something that is meaningful and significant to the theme of the art. In this painting heturned the clouds into SOCCER PLAYERS playing the game. Look closely and you can see the athleteskicking a soccer ball and running. It is so awesome and a very moving tribute to this wonderful sport. If you also look at the \"moon\" or \"sun\"......you will see that Kamil turned it into the Globe.....the world, the earth.........a tribute and honor for these WORLD CUP GAMES. So clever and sentimental. He also did this in some of his golf art and specifically in his painting of Yankee Stadium.....the clouds are many of the old time Yankee Greats! I met Kamil when I was working for the State of New Jersey and commissionedhim to do some work for our Senate President. He ultimately completed about 9 - 10 different New Jersey landmarks, locations, etc. While this was done in New Jersey it is not a part of that series that included, Cape May, The Battleship New Jersey, The New Jersey State House, The Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island, and more.

HISTORY OF THE ARTIST

Kamil was a well known Impressionist Artist throughout Europe before coming to America.With hisnew wife,they traveled the most important cities in America while Kamil worked his way up to becoming one of the most celebrated Impressionists of our time. He painted for the White House and was Barbara Bush\'s favorite artist. He did work with Donald Trump who has called KamilHIS favorite artist as well. His Wall Street Series of prints include the Floor ofThe New York Stock Exchange.....one of his most popular,.. along with The Saint Patrick\'s Day Parade in New York City. He did an entire series of Ritz Carlton Hotels for their organization......painting an abundance of their magnificent hotels from all over the world. There are florals and famous cities and landmarks and just so very many incredible works of art created by this talented artist.

I metKamil over 20 years ago when I commissioned him for a project that resultedina large number of paintings for the State of New Jersey. Cape May, The Barnegat Lighthouse, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, The World Cup Soccer games at Giants Stadium, the visit from the Pope ...and mass at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Newark, the Battleship New Jersey andmany more....including this Christmas IN CAPE MAY! These arejust some of the beautiful prints that are availablefor purchase and thatI will continue sellinguntil they are gone.Kamil\'s International work and the New Jersey projectof paintings aretruly amazing but there are countless others that would take your breath away.

Kamillived an extremely healthy, active life but passed away in 2011because of complications from a serious stroke. There are a number of these prints still available for purchase but since Kamil is gone.....once these prints are gone, it\'s done.

This beautiful painting was done in 1994 and the remaining prints have been in storage. They are inperfect condition with noflaws, rips, tears, holes etc. and each one is signed by the artist.This is a perfect print for you if you have a love for this sport or this stadium.
