Description KING GEORGE IV OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE TEA CADDY c1825 Lion Mask Handles

Period: Georgian c1825.

Dimensions: approx 130mm across.

Hallmarks: Unmarked.

Condition: Good. A number of dings and dents on both sides and the bottom of the caddy, in places creating a slightly dimpled effect (this is not obvious in all the photos as the light relection masks it a little). Some surface scratches including a larger one on the back (see photo 4). Very little copper bleed except for raised edges but you can see the beginnings of a few patches underneath the layer of silver (see photo 2). A few spots of black tarnish that will polish off. The hinge is in good working order. Wear commensurate with age and use. Please see photos and do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.

Notes: Fantastic George IV Sheffield Plate tea caddy with lion mask handles, gadrooned borders and pretty floral finial. Possibly tinned inside (see photo 11).
