BIO:J. Waymon Rose was Juror No. 10 on the murder trial for Jack Ruby killing LeeHarvey Oswald. A public spectacle that kept the spotlight on Dallas in themonths after President John F. Kennedy was slain on Nov. 22, 1963. On March 14,1964, just 10 days after the trial began, the 12-member jury that included Rosequickly found Ruby guilty of the murder of Lee Harvey Oswald the assassin whoshot Kennedy as the presidential motorcade made its way along the western edgeof downtown Dallas. The next day, after deliberating for slightly more than twohours, the jury returned a guilty verdict and sentenced Ruby to death. Rubyappealed his conviction and death sentence. The Texas Court of Criminal Appealsordered a new trial in 1966, citing, among other errors, the judge’s refusal togrant a change of venue. But Ruby became ill while the trial was being set anddied of lung cancer on Jan. 3, class=\"MsoNoSpacing\">
