This listing is for a Komelon 12 foot auto lock tape measure. The tape measure is constructed of a durable neon yellow ABS thermoplastic polymer (the same stuff Legos are made from). ABS is known for its impact resistance and toughness. The ABS is coated with a protective rubber coating for protection and to prevent slippage from sweaty or wet hands. The blade is made from steel and coated with nylon (Dura Ny-Lock). This allows for smooth deployment and retraction of the blade it also resists rusting and helps prevent the marking from fading. It is 9/16 of an inch wide. The auto lock feature keeps the tape from retracting until you push a button. This comes in handy when trying to do one handed measurments. Some don\'t like it, but a majority of folks do. I think it is a great feature. The back side of the tape measure has chromed steel belt clip to hook on to your tool belt or pants pocket.
