WILD CARP (or KOI FISH) SwimAmidst CLEAR & FROSTED WATERS

This ancient symbol of luck and good fortune, the koi fish or wild carp, is stylishly depicted here in this matched pair of shallow bowls by the renowned French crystal maker...Lalique. Thedesign and craftsmanship of the famed Lalique Crystal is implemented quite well here, as the single koi fish weaves through the bubbly waters and strikes acontrast between the frosted and clearcrystal, and the form follows the function as the fish\'s tail sweeps out of the water.Each dish measures 6 1/8\" diameter x 1 7/8\" high, and wouldfunction well as a candy or condimentserver, or even an ashtray.Each is hand-etched and signed (justunder the top ledge) with the hallmarks \"Lalique\", followed by an encircled \"R\", and \"France\". Thesetwo Lalique dishes are pre-owned...I bought themcirca 1980. They were purchased as a set, and are being sold as a pair...only. They are in very good condition (please see pictures included in this listing), withthe exception of one chip (on one dish only), approximately 1/2\" in size, on the underside ofa section of the fish\'s tail...see picture#7 for better detail and description of thisflaw.The uniqueelement here is that they are being offered for sale as a perfectly matched pair...an ideal feature for the truly perfect tablesetting.
