DESCRIPTON
This fine Georgian cream jug stands on a square pedestal foot and has a lovely elegant helmet shape to it. It is much larger than a standard helmet cream jug of the late 18th century and appropriately has been made from a good gauge of silver too. It is beautifully engraved and includes an initial \"M\" to both sides.
The cream jug has a good hefty weight and most importantly is in fine condition throughout with a lovely original patina. This style and period of cream jug is often found with some form of damage or repair - usually around the handle or foot area. Fortunately this example benefits from being in excellent condition with none of these issues.
Robert Hennell was one of the finest silversmiths of the George III period and this pitcher style jug is a fabulous example of his work.
A lovelyitem to add to any collection.
