LARGE 19TH C. RUSSIAN INLAID SILVER KINDJAL DAGGER & SCABBARD - :

A fine 19th Century Russian Inlaid Silver Kindjal Dagger and Scabbard. This is a fine example that is extensively decorated with inlaid silver to both the scabbard and blade. The hilt is made from darkened steel with silver patterns to most of its surface. The blade is very fine and comprises inlaid silver floral motifs to one side of the blade forteand cross-hatched patterns to the reverse. The rest of the blade is incised with a series of parallel lines. The kindjal comes complete with its original scabbard that is also extensively decorated with silver patterning - small dent. Condition of the kindjal is very good for its age with light wear in places. Blade length is 17.5 inches (23 inches overall).
